I decided a while ago that I would do some style post featuring white pants since we’re about to be overwhelmed with “All White” parties and such. Honestly I wear white denim anytime of the year because its denim, but as the saying goes first you must know the rules then break them. I was reminded that it was June 1st so I had to uphold the words from this statement.
I have quite a few pairs of white pants but I favor two pair in particular…here’s why. My introduction to white pants were of course linen and those either got too dirty or I bought them based on the old head standards. The super wide, loose fitting, Miami beach style. Those don’t look as good any more. So until I find the right linen blend I won’t be wearing white linen pants I’ll stick to my favorites. White pants are sort of like a preference for me during the hotter months but I think they should be more of an option for guys in general. Here are a few suggestions if you decide to switch it up and try the bleached option:
1. Buy them like you buy your regular denim jeans or pants. Basically, straight,slim, and have them tailored if needed.
2. Don’t be scared to wear different color shirts. White blends with just about everything well.
3. Stay away from white shoes. I know white shoes seem like the number one option but they aren’t. You’ll look like a nurse when you’re wearing white pants and white shoes. (unless its an All White party then I guess you get a pass)
Now to this week’s look. I felt very hip and street so I dressed the jeans down. As you can see, denim jackets look just as cool with white denim. You can’t ever go wrong with Converse Chuck Taylor’s and a well fitting t-shirt.
By the time I headed out the door to the happy hour/party I made a few changes and additions. Blame it on the music I was listening to or maybe the humidity but I had to ditch the jacket and added a hat just cause it worked.
