I’m not sure if I ever mentioned that Ozwald Boateng is probably my favorite designers. Not just for his clothes because frankly I wouldn’t wear everything he designs. Its because of his character. His bold use of color. How he commands a room. How he knows what he wants. He’s not afraid to be good. He’s passionate about what he does AND because he’s Black. Not African-American but still a Black male doing his things in high-fashion and doing it very well in one of the most respected places in the fashion whole world, Saville Row. I was just catching up with what’s shaking overseas since London fashion week is upon us and I came across this video. The beginning of it is an animated short featuring Boateng and the whole thing is set up like an anime action cartoon. What a pretty clever way for Givenchy’s marketers and art directors or whoever to adopt the old fashion house with modern times. This was uploaded a few months ago but if I remember correctly Ozwald Boateng was director for Givenchy years ago like maybe back in like 2006 or 2007. Not quite sure when but I believe this video is dated. Either way the cartoon is cool and of course the Givenchy mens runway show is cooler. Check it out.
