“I dread going to sleep” – Jeff Staple
This is the stand out line, the line I most relate to, the line that speaks to me most from Jeff Staple in Eighteen Eighty’s behind the scenes with Staple. For those who aren’t familiar with Staple Design or the Reed Space just click the hyperlinks. I got hip to Reed from Vice magazine a few years ago. I just so happen to pick the mag up while I was in the now closed Nom De Guerre store in Soho. The only reason I picked up the mag was because I was in NY trying to soak up as much as I could especially if it was free. Vice Magazine was doing what it supposed to and putting its reader up on something up and coming, something below the radar or something that just had its own little following. Staple Design was all three and more. Take a look at the video above and begin to unders why you began to see that pigeon design embroidered on Nikes and fitted caps all across New York and the world for that matter. I really admire what Jeff Staple has done and is doing with Staple Design. I could only hope to have that much vision and work ethic…I’ll start by substituting sleep with work tonight.
